Now boot up your MacBook again and tell it to restart and try to update the software again. If the reboot takes a while, that’s okay. Let it work out any kinks, and see if it can now load MacOS. I recently purchased a Pro (just a heads up I recently made the switch from PC to Mac. So I'm a little new), and it needed some software updates to install some of my coding programs I use. I went to updates under the App store and tried to download the most recent High Sierra (10.13.5). I currently have 10.13.1.
Why Can't I Download The Macbook Pro Update Version
- That message does not mean you can't download it. I am sure that I already had been looking and can't seem to find and it's puzzles me. $150 for 16-inch MacBook Pro $150 for 21.5-inch.
- How do I get past my 10.7.5? I need to download final cut to edit some videos, but can’t do that. Can’t even download discord because it’s unsupported. Anyway sorry for lengthy post. Anything will help. Can’t update 2011 MacBook past 10.7.5 every app or program is unsupported.
Use Software Update
- Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu , then click Software Update to check for updates.
- If any updates are available, click the Update Now button to install them. Or click “More info” to see details about each update and select specific updates to install. You might be asked to enter your administrator password.
- When Software Update says that your Mac is up to date, the installed version of macOS and all of its apps are also up to date. That includes Safari, Music, Photos, Books, Messages, Mail, Calendar, and FaceTime.
- To automatically install future updates, including for apps that you got from the App Store, select “Automatically keep my Mac up to date.” Your Mac will notify you when updates require it to restart, so you can always choose to install those later.
